Description: The obverse of this medal depicts the map of Africa with
the inscription 'AFRICAN SERVICE MEDAL AFRIKADIENS-MEDALJE'.
The reverse has a leaping springbok facing to the right and the
suspender is the straight non-swivelling type with ornate claw.

impressed capital letters with the prefixes 'N' for Native Military
Corps, 'C' for Cape Corps and 'M' for Malay Corps. White recipients
had no prefix.
