Description: The obverse of this
medal has seven marching service men and women representing the
various services with the inscription '1939 CANADA 1945' above and
'VOLUNTARY SERVICE VOLONTAIRE' below while the reverse bears the
Canadian Coat of Arms. The suspender bar is plain and straight
attached to the medal with a small metal ring.
Metal: Silver.
Size: 36mm.
Clasps: Two clasps exist the first being a bar with a simple maple
leaf motif which was awarded to service men and women who had served
outside of Canada. The second was introduced in 1994 and again is
a bar with the word 'DIEPPE' surmounted by the Combined Operations
emblem and was awarded to those who took part in the Dieppe Raid of
1942.
