Date Instituted: 1937.

Description: The obverse bears the two crowned busts of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in robes of state while the reverse has the inscription 'CROWNED 12 MAY 1937' surmounted by the crowned 'GRI'.

Metal: Silver.

Size: 32mm.

Clasps: None authorised for this medal.

Ribbon:

Naming: Issued un-named.

Comments: Some 90,000 medals were awarded to mark the coronation of King George VI.
