Instituted: 1951.
Description: The obverse of this medal bears the effigy of the reigning
monarch while the reverse has the figure of Justice with scales
in her left hand and a wreath in her right surrounded by the inscription
'FOR EXEMPLARY POLICE SERVICE'. The suspender is straight and found
in both swivelling and non-swivelling formats.
Metal: Cupro-nickel.
Size: 36mm.

Naming: Impressed
capital letters.
Comments: Awarded to full-time regular police officers within any UK
constabulary for 22 years service. In 1956 this medal was extended
to police officers serving in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Nauru.
Australia however replaced this medal in 1976 with the National
Medal.
