RHODESIA MEDAL


Date Instituted: 1980.

Campaign: Rhodesia 1979-80.

Description: The obverse of this medal bears the crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II while the reverse depicts a sable antelope with the words 'THE RHODESIA MEDAL 1980'. The suspender is straigt and non-swivelling.

Metal: Rhodium plated cupro-nickel.

Size: 36mm.

Clasps: None authorised for this medal.

Ribbon:

Naming: Impressed capital letters or issued un-named.

Comments: Awarded to personnel serving in Rhodesia for 14 days between 1st December 1979 and 29th March 1980. After this Rhodesia ceased to exist and the Republic of Zimbabwe energed.
