ROYAL NAVAL AUXILIARY SICK BERTH RESERVE LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL


Date Instituted: 1919.

Description: The obverse of this medal bears the head of the reigning monarch while the reverse dipicts a battleship with the inscription 'DIUTERNE FIDELIS'.

Metal: Silver.

Size: 36mm.

Bars: Bars were authorised for additional 15 years service.

Ribbon: 1st Type Ribbon
     
  2nd Type Ribbon

Naming: Impressed capital letters.

Comments: Awarded for 15 years service in the Royal Naval Sick Berth Reserve. Members of the RNSBR were recruited from the St. John Ambulance Brigade.

Identical to the Royal Naval Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal but distinguished by the letters RNSBR impressed on the rim after the recipient's name.

A total of 1495 medals were awarded in total before it was discontinued in 1949 with the disbanding of the RNSBR.
