ROYAL NAVAL WIRELESS AUXILIARY RESERVE LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL


Date Instituted: 1939.

Description: The obverse of this medal bears the head of the reigning monarch while the reverse dipicts a battleship with the inscription 'DIUTERNE FIDELIS'.

Metal: Silver.

Size: 36mm.

Bars: None authorised for this medal.

Ribbon: 1st Type Ribbon
     
  2nd Type Ribbon

Naming: Impressed capital letters.

Comments: Awarded for 12 years service in the Royal Naval Wireless Auxiliary Reserve.

Identical to the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal but distinguished by the letters RNWAR impressed on the rim after the recipient's name.

A total of 200 medals were awarded in total before it was discontinued in 1957 when the RNWAR was disbanded.
