Naming: Naming
appears in indented Roman capitals for both the army and marines
while naval medals were issued un-named.
Comments: Few collectors will have seen an original example of the first type of
ribbon and it appears issues began with the second ribbon from the
outset. Some collectors suggest the first ribbon was never, in fact,
manufactured.
Medals
awarded to members of the 1st Dragoon Guards are highly collectable
and command a premium. |
