and women in front of a Soviet star flanked by oakleaves and the
dates 1945-85. The reverse bears the inscription '40TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1941-1945' in Russian.

Clasps: None authorised for this medal.
Comments: Awarded to British and Canadian forces who served on the Arctic convoys
taking supplies to Russia during the Second World War. It was not
until 1994 that recipients were authorised to wear this medal after
the collapse of the Soviet Union. |
