TERRITORIAL DECORATION


Date Instituted: 1908.

Description: Oval skeletal medal in the form of a wreath of oakleaves with the royal monogram in the centre of the reigning monarch. The ribbon is attached via a metal ring at the top of the medal. The ribbon is finished with a brooch bar decorated with laurel wreaths.

Metal: Silver and silver-gilt.

Size: 46mm high and 35mm wide.

Bars: None authorised for this medal.

Naming: Issued un-named.

Comments: Awarded to officers of the Territorial Force for 20 years service with any non-commissioned service counting as half. It was replaced in 1930 by the Efficiency Decoration with a total of 4,783 being awarded.
