Date Instituted: 1968.

Campaign: Vietnam War 1964-73.

Description: The obverse of this medal bears the crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscription 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.'.  The reverse has a nude male pushing apart two spheres representing two different ideologies.

Metal: Silver.

Size: 36mm.

Clasps: None authorised for this medal.

Ribbon:

Naming: Small impressed capital letters for New Zealand issues and large capitals for Australian medals.

Comments: Awarded to Australian and New Zealand personnel who served the minimum of 24 hours on land or 28 days at sea in the Vietnam theatre of operations.
