Description: The obverse of this medal bears the head of the reigning
monarch while the reverse has the inscription 'FOR LONG SERVICE
IN THE VOLUNTEER FORCE' upon a ribbon with laurel wreaths in the
background. The swivelling suspender is plain and straight.

un-named or engraved or impressed in capital letters.
Comments: Awarded to NCO's and enlisted men of the Volunteer Force
with officers being eligible if they had served in the ranks before
being commissioned. The medal was replaced by the Territorial Force
Efficiency Medal in 1908. |
